🐋✨ “The Whale of a Time” is a massive Bryde’s whale sculpture created from over 419 kilograms of plastic waste. This remarkable collaboration between the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and artist WISHULADA Wichulada Puntaranuwong, who specializes in creating art from waste and recycled materials.
🌊 Inspired by the “Bryde’s whale” that found in the Gulf of Thailand, this artwork aims to reflect the marine waste crisis, particularly campaigning against waste generation from marine tourism in the Gulf of Thailand that impacts marine ecosystems and directly affects Bryde’s whales – from accidentally ingesting plastic waste that blocks their digestive systems, potentially leading to death.
♻️ This initiative also aligns with sustainable tourism concepts, working toward net-zero carbon tourism through creative waste management solutions.

🐋✨ The Whale of a Time เป็นประติมากรรมวาฬบรูด้าขนาดใหญ่
ที่สร้างจากขยะพลาสติกกว่า 419 กิโลกรัม ซึ่งเป็นผลงานความร่วมมือระหว่าง การท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย (ททท.) และศิลปิน WISHULADA วิชชุลดา ปัณฑรานุวงศ์ นักสร้างสรรค์งานศิลปะจากขยะและของเหลือใช้
🌊 โดยมีแรงบันดาลใจจาก “วาฬบรูด้า” ที่พบในอ่าวไทย ซึ่งมีจุดประสงค์ที่จะสะท้อนถึงปัญหาขยะ
โดยเฉพาะการรณรงค์ไม่สร้างขยะจากการท่องเที่ยวทางทะเลในอ่าวไทย ที่จะส่งผลกระทบต่อระบบนิเวศทางทะเล และกระทบโดยตรงต่อวาฬบรูดา ทั้งการกินขยะโดยไม่ได้ตั้งใจ ทำให้ระบบย่อยอาหารติดขัด หรือเสียชีวิตได้
♻️ นอกจากนั้นยังสอดคล้องกับแนวคิด
การท่องเที่ยวอย่างยั่งยืนที่มุ่งสู่การท่องเที่ยวคาร์บอนสุทธิเป็นศูนย์ ผ่านการจัดการขยะอย่างสร้างสรรค์อีกด้วย
